Death Receives the Spirit of Geronimo was completed in Toronto, Canada in February, 1996. The place between the worlds of the living and dead is the dynamic spirit of this piece.

Death Receives the Spirit of Geronimo is in the collection of Wynetta Belt, assistant curator of the African American Museum of Art in Laguna Beach, California. Wynetta, who is a dreamer and artist, called to say the painting had come alive on the morning of May 2nd, 1998, when radiant light had flowed from the piece to awaken Wynetta and her daughter. This occurred at the exact moment when Death received the spirit of the great Yaqui Chief, Anselmo Valencia Tori. Acrylic and pastel on canvas; 24" by 36"
